Yesterday, The Times of Israel published an article about the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Yitzhak Yosef, giving praise to yeshiva students (students in Jewish religious studies) instead of the military for the reason the country was unscathed in rocket attacks. Even though he did thank God for miracles and wonders during the Hamas War and recent conflicts, he went on to put down their military and said, "only thanks to the members of the yeshivas and their students. They protect all the soldiers and all the nation of Israel"[1.1].

The large 300 plus missiles launched by Iran the other week came to mind, where the news reported 99% of the missiles were destroyed in the air. However, as I said the other week, I do not count that as God's miracle. Standard military defenses are nothing supernatural, but help God gives through others is help from Him, which may or may not be miraculous. At least, Yosef thanked God, but He missed the mark when he only credits yeshiva students for protecting the military and country.

Many people attacked Yosef because of his denigration of the work done by soldiers. Some people suggested Israel take away Iron Dome missile defense systems from his neighborhood, while others said he should be put in prison as the chief yeshiva representative for failing to prevent the October 7th Hamas attack.

People were right to be angry, but I noticed they missed some important points; one being that without help from their international allies, like the United States, who took credit for destroying nearly one-third of the missiles coming from the Iran attack[1.2], Israel and their defenses would not have proclaimed a victory with minimal damage, and certainly not 99% of missiles destroyed.

However, the worst offense Yosef and others missed was to not clearly give God the glory for Israel coming out relatively unscathed, at least physically, since they began war after October 7th. Here are my comments to the article and someone who felt I was insulting them (additional comments for clarification are in red).
Minister Ty Alexander: Tell me what Jewish leader in the history of the people is said to have been struck down by God and eaten by worms after he did not give God the glory when he spoke on a seat of judgment as the people praised him? [I was referring to King Herod Antipas in Acts 12]

Israel, it was God that gave sufficient protection in the latest conflicts, but it was also Him that sent judgment upon you that October 7th, and it was no small part that the sin of the rabbinate took that His hand struck you on a day you exalt in reading the Torah [Law of Moses]. It was meant as extreme warning for you to heed as I had spoken elsewhere here. So praise El Shaddai [God Almighty] that He keeps the nation from utter destruction, but for you who live in arrogance and sin, proclaiming you know God and keep the Torah, and even protect the nation, though you do not succeed in these measures but rather hurt the nation, learn humility before Him who sits upon the Judgment Seat, for it was also no small part that your international allies play to bolster your military, and without God's help through them, as well, you would suffer even more. Glory to El Shaddai, God Almighty, forever through Mashiach Yeshua. Amen.

Two listn: It is sad that you have insulted the families of innocent people who have been raped and murdered. That is behavior that is rejected by Judaism and the rest of humanity.

Minister Ty Alexander: The one who is overly defensive rejects the truth of accountability in their lives. That is to their great harm, for then they will not change, and continue to live in ways that had them caught in darkness. People of God are supposed to be protected by Him, are they not? So why is it then that so much horrible things happen to people of God, especially who think themselves innocent?

I do not try to insult Israel or Jews, but try to point out the flaws in the people for their own good. They have become as Nineveh in ancient times when God sent Yonah [Jonah] to warn them. The prophet was angry that God took away His raised hand from them, because they repented wholeheartedly when warned, for they believed God's warning. At the end of Sefer Yonah [Book of Jonah], the prophet continued in anger that God relented from destroying Nineveh. He was overzealous for Godliness, but El Elyon, God Most High, said, Should I not have compassion on a city of more than 120,000 souls who do not know between their left hand and their right hand?

So today, Israel does not know right from left and rejects God's voice when His hand is raised in anger. A people of God should also know better and so are given worse judgment when wrong, as you have seen in these days. Those who hear will look further...
