Kamala Harris' recent pick for presidential running mate side-stepping Pennsylvania governor, Josh Shapiro, who is Jewish, has brought up claims that he was not chosen because of antisemitic reasons, and because of a political campaign against Shapiro being picked because of his backing for Israel. The Harris campaign denies any antisemitic reason for choosing Minnesota governor, Tim Walz, instead, and I have not seen any reason to rage about antisemitism in her campaign or her set of morality.

Walz is a Liberal Democrat, like Harris. They do share much of the same values and public policies, which try to give equality for all and maintain reasonable personal freedoms. That includes treating Palestinians and Muslims with the same respect and dignity as everyone else, including Jews and Israel. However, any withholding of support for Israel or any support for Muslims, and especially Palestinians, is viewed as antisemitic by many Jews and citizens of Israel.

The Lord had me see the unfounded outcries of antisemitism in the Harris presidential campaign as another reminder about racial and ethnic relations that I have talked about before, and so I was prompted to make comment in The Times of Israel article, "Democrats dismiss ‘ridiculous’ claim antisemitism behind Shapiro snub for VP pick":
Minister Ty Alexander: People should not give in to promotions of anti-ethnic or other claims of prejudice when there is no evidence. It incites further hate and division, as well as propagates slander and libel; none of which are virtues, but in fact, the opposite.

And also, for people of different or minority ethnicity, it is detrimental to their cause for equality and peaceful coexistence when they are overly defensive, overly argumentative, and come out shouting with clenched fists, or overcompensate for their perceived mass degradations from others by promoting themselves as above everyone else, like claiming the status of “royalty” or showboating strength, anger, and flexed muscles, as is often done in the black minority community in the States. I’m afraid that is all counterproductive to bringing equality and peace.

There’s a place for self-upliftment to improve one’s self-esteem, but using methods that put down others is counterproductive, not to mention arrogant; another vice that people should avoid and which does not foster peace nor equality. What vice will nurture peace and equality? The one who will be peaceable towards others holds out a loving hand, while the one who wins it from his neighbors does it with graceful countenance.
