When a woman prayed about an abortion she had, God's guidance to her asked her to think about what happens to the souls of babies who die before being born.

We know abortion is the sin of murder no matter the circumstances. Life begins at the moment of conception, so terminating a pregnancy in any way is murder. That includes the use of "morning after" pills that terminate a pregnancy.

To support the importance of life at conception, God has guided us that Christmas was actually the date of Yeshua - Jesus' conception in the womb, not His birthdate[1]. This important detail is why we see contradictory evidence for a late December birth in the Bible. Mary and Joseph were traveling at that time for a census, which is unlikely to be ordered during winter because people had to travel to their hometowns for the census (Luke 2:1-7). Shepherds were also in the fields with their flocks at night when Christ was born (Luke 2:8), which also suggests the weather was still temperate at night.

More recently, the Lord gave more proof that abortion is sin and that a soul is a complete being at conception. See Abortion Discussion and God's 383 guidance for details.

Now, what happens to the souls of babies murdered before being born? That question goes beyond life lost in the physical body - the existence we have in this temporal life. God guided me that there are also consequences in the afterlife of aborted souls.

Many years ago I saw a documentary where paranormal investigators found a house where the souls of many aborted babies were trapped. Through prayer the souls were released. That episode troubled me and stuck with me for many years. I inquired of the Lord about it and was guided that those babies' souls were trapped in purgatory (called Sheol and Hades in the Bible) and not simply impressions or memories of their spirits somehow recorded by the environment, which can happen sometimes in places of trauma such as old battlefields where people have reported seeing repeated ghostly scenes of the battle.

Why were the babies trapped in purgatory? Why would God let that happen? It has to do with God judging all sin and that our children and descendants can be affected by our sin (generational curses: Exodus 20:5, 34:6-7; Leviticus 20:4-5, 26:22, 26:39; Numbers 14:18, 16:25-35; Deuteronomy 5:9, 23:2, 28:18; Joshua 7:24-26; 2 Chronicles 29:6-9; Jeremiah 2:9, 9:16, 32:18, 36:31; Lamentations 5:7; Hosea 4:6; 2 Peter 2:14). He wants us to see there are serious consequences to our sin and think about our children when we are tempted to do wrong. The consequences can fall on our entire household for generations. We must consider that and turn away from sin.

But now we can see that judgment can even come in the afterlife of innocent souls. That is why the aborted babies were in purgatory. They were paying for the sins of their parents. Remember that when you consider committing sin, like abortion, and believe there will be no serious consequences for it.

Abortion should never be considered, even if doctors think a pregnancy endangers the mother. We must understand that serious troubles often come because of our sin. There is always reason for it, for "Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest" (Proverbs 26:2). We must also rely wholly on the Lord to bring us through all things, as well as for protection. God is Judge of all, but He abounds in mercy and lovingkindness as well. We must trust and rely on Him and never give up hope. People and medicine are limited, but nothing is too hard for the Lord.

We must also be balanced with the knowledge that sin affects more than ourselves. The only way to secure blessings of protection and freedom from judgment for us, as well as our families and nations, is to understand what sin truly is and turn away from it, so we can correct our standing with God.

Since Roe versus Wade in 1973, there were more than 60 million abortions in the United States[5,6,7] and an estimated 1.72 billion worldwide[8] (as of 2013). Consider what happened to all those souls and pray for them. Pray for the elimination of abortion. Pray for the elimination of sexual immorality and its acceptance. Pray for the wisdom of people to understand what sin is and turn away from it, so nations come out of sin. Pray for the truth to be accepted, so the debate for life and choice comes to an end. The correct morality of things become clear when the truth is accepted.

Addendum:
Soon after this was posted, someone sarcastically commented on the hundreds upon hundreds of adoptions being made to save all the unwanted babies. After all, how could millions upon millions of babies be adopted?

That isn't the point. It's society's lack of accountability, self-control, and morals that are creating so many unwanted babies in the first place. The immorality of murder is justified in the name of personal freedom. Loose sexual morals and lust promoted by popular culture, and the absence of self-control, proper education and discipline of our children are promoting promiscuity that is creating all these unwanted babies.

Society's bad attitude about limiting abortion ignores the very serious moral consequences of abortion and gives useless criticism on what to do with all the babies instead of accepting the causes of this problem are its exchange of the moral for the immoral. Pride in thinking that nothing wrong is done is blinding society - it is the wrong kind of pride. Society does not want to see its wrongs and that lack of accountability will destroy our nations.

God has tried to show people the truth by using His servants to relay clear messages. One of those include Jonathan Cahn, who shared the information he had about financial and other disasters centered around the Shemitah or Biblical Year of "Letting Fall" in his book, The Mystery of the Shemitah.

In his discussion of the legalization of abortion at the beginning of 1973, Jonathan noted, "the connection between the Year of the Shemitah and the collapses in America's financial and economic realms appears to grow more intense and consistent in the cycles immediately following the critical year of 1973 than in those preceding it."[2]

In fact, the greatest stock market crashes of the last 40 plus years begins in 1973 when the United States legalized abortion[3]. These uncannily non-coincidental links of financial loss to the seven year cycle of the Shemitah and abortion are God's signs to the world that they need to look deeper and change their thinking about what is truly right and wrong, much like the guidance He gave related to the Shemitah and the wake-up call of 9-11[4].

Addendum 7/2/2022:
Israel was also given a sign related to its support for abortion only days after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade on June 24, 2022. See Abortion Discussion for more.
