For many believers, hurricanes like Ian are obviously judgment from God, because shouldn't a People that know the Lord recall that He is the One forming light and creating darkness, causing well-being and creating disaster. [He says,] I am Yahovah who does all these things (Isaiah 45:7; also Deuteronomy 32:39; 1 Samuel 2:5-7; Lamentations 3:38; Job 12:23; Jeremiah 31:28; Ecclesiastes 7:14; 2 Chronicles 25:8; Proverbs 22:2). But so much false teaching and lies are widespread that many believers today still only blame Satan or natural accidents for horrible events.
A few days ago on Wednesday, October 28th, Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida as a very strong Category 4 hurricane,
and as I saw its trajectory during the last days, I noted how its path of destruction stayed almost
exactly within the area I described in the
Location Notices above for Florida - the southern half of Florida marked by (and
including) Orlando, and
exactly in the areas of warning, which include the entire East Coast.
This hurricane was reported to be the most destructive for Florida in over a half-century, but as I watched the news reports of much loss and flooding, I couldn't help feel that Hurricane Ian's destruction would not be the worse of what is coming.
God's hand is in this. The prudent and humble will see His hand is lifted in anger at them and run from the sins that leave them in the path of destruction.
Who can hide from the Lord? But for the righteous ones, the Lord Himself will be their Shield.
