This song emphasizes God's many names and titles, which are lost in most translations of
Scripture. God originally gave most of His Names in Hebrew. They are the ones the Israelites
and Jesus's family and disciples called the Lord by. He prefers we use them, but it also does
not matter how we pronounce them or any translations of them. It is simply the Lord's preference we use His Hebrew Names.

About The Hebrew Names and Titles
In general it does not matter how we pronounce the Hebrew since there are different dialects and linguistic variations.
Suggested pronunciations are given in quotes. Some words are spelled phonetically to help pronunciation, like Ab (father) is spelled Abv.

Pronunciation Key:
'ah' is the A sound, as in fah and lah
'ay' is the long A sound, as in hay and say
'e' or 'eh' is the short E sound, as in peck and heck
'ee' is the long E sound, as in see and bee
'i' or 'ih' is the short I sound, as in pick and sick
'yy' is the long I sound, as in bye and eye
'oh' is the long O sound, as in woe and glow
'oo' is the long OO, as in flu, shoe and moon
'uh' is the short U sound, as in muck, run and much
  • Abv / Ab "Ahv" (Father)

  • Abv Elohim "Ahv El-oh-heem" (Father Mighty God) - see Elohim

  • Adonai "Ah-dahn-nyy" (Lord)

  • Adonai Yahovah "Ah-dahn-nyy Yah-hoh-vah" (Lord Jehovah) - see Yahovah

  • El "El" (God)

  • El Elyon "El El-yohn" (God Most High)

  • El Olam "El Oh-lahm" (Everlasting God)

  • El Shaddai "El Shah-dyy" (God Almighty)

  • Elohim "El-oh-heem" (Mighty God)

  • Elyon "El-yohn" (Most High)

  • HaMashiach "Hah-Mah-shee-ahk" (Christ/The Christ - The Messiah or Anointed One)

  • HaShem "Hah-Shehm/Hah-Shim" (The Name)

  • Jehovah "Jah-hoh-vah/Jeh-hoh-vah" - the English pronunciation of Yahovah; see Yahovah

  • Jesus "Jee-zuhs" - the English pronunciation of Yahshua/Yeshua; it comes from the translation of the Latin, Iesus, which came from the Greek, Iēsous/Ιēςους/Ιησους/Iesoua, which in turn came from the transliteration of the Hebrew, Yahshua/Yeshua/Joshua (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ), into Greek; this layered translation came about because the New Testament was originally mostly written in Greek and then translated into Latin and then into English; see Yahshua for more

  • Olam "Oh-lahm" (Everlasting)

  • Ruach HaKodesh "Roo-ahk Hah-Koh-desh/Hah-Koh-dish" (Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost)

  • Shaddai "Shah-dyy" (Almighty/Most Powerful)

  • Yahshua / Yeshua "Yah-shoo-ah/Yeh-shoo-ah" (Jesus/Yeshua/Yehoshua/Yeshu/Joshua) - The Lord's Name in Christ, The Son; it means Yah/Yahovah saves, so the spelling with Yah is preferred; Joshua is the same name as Yahshua or Jesus; the difference came from transliteration or translation from different languages; Joshua is the English translation of the Hebrew Yahshua/Yeshua (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ), while Jesus came from the English translation of the Latin and Greek translations of the Hebrew (see Jesus above)

  • Yahshua HaMashiach "Yah-shoo-ah Hah-Mah-shee-ahk" (Jesus Christ) - see Yahshua and HaMashiach

  • Yah / Yahovah "Yah / Yah-hoh-vah" (Jehovah/Yahweh/Yahveh/Yahuah/Yahuwah - The Lord's Proper Holy Name as Father; Yah is its short form; means The Existing One or Self Existing One; the Hebrew is also called the Tetragrammaton (יהוה YHWH/YHVH)
